Haugesund, Norway - Our Day in Port

Cruising Norway and docked in pretty Haugesund. This was a different experience from the Fjords we had been used to. The town is culturally important and famed to be the seat of Viking kings with Harald I Fairhair reputed to have become the 1st king of all Norway by winning a battle here. Whilst this is celebrated the town is a modern coastal town with a working port. There is a lovely vibe of culture and art and a very relaxed air with some fantastic bars and cafes. It’s quite small though and before long you’ve explored the main town area. There is however a gorgeous rugged coastline to explore which is well served with marked footpaths.
