Welcome back to Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas! This is our Day 4 vlog and today we are in the beautiful Grand Cayman! This is a beautiful island with even more beautiful water! Our plan of action for the day was to snorkel at a free snorkeling and scuba entry point. However, due to the weather, spending extra time filming our ship tour, and all aboard time rapidly approaching, we had to scrap that plan. But fret not! We still had a fantastic time tendering to the island and exploring the nearby sights! If you are not familiar with tendering, it is the process of taking a smaller sized boat from the cruise ship to the pier when the cruise ship is not anchored at the pier. There are many reasons why an island may choose to have the cruise ships anchor beyond their piers. In Grand Cayman’s case it is in efforts to preserve their beautiful reefs and aquatic life (which we think is just the best)! Because we disembarked so late, we lucked out with a tendering boat all to ourselves, which I must say felt very lavish! Once off the tender boat, we meandered close by to see the nearby tourist spots. We ended up at the snorkel spot we had originally planned to explore today! This location is called Eden Rock and Devil's Grotto. It seems like a great option for a free and self guided snorkeling or SCUBA diving location! Maybe we will come back at another time and see the underwater life! Once back on the ship, we had the most delicious and relaxing dinner at Playmakers! This is by far our favorite Playmakers on any ship we’ve been on and PLEASE get the pulled pork nachos! You won’t regret it! We also had a great time checking out the nightly entertainment: Freeze Frame Ice Show, Juggler and Headliner Aaron Bonk, and the Royal Promenade 80’s Dance Party! We had another fantastic day onboard and we hope you join us back tomorrow for more fun!
