http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com The Chihpen area of Taitung County is blessed with natural hot spring water. One of the reasons the luxurious, five-star Hotel Royal Chihpen is a world-class resort. The Spa Complex offers Jacuzzi, ultrasonic bath, cold water bath, sauna while the Open Air Spa (must cover hair and wear a bathing suit) has hydrotherapy, water massage and different pools. All services were very expensive except for soaking in the hot springs. The water temperature in our small steeping tub was much hotter than the outdoor hot springs, a big disappointment compared to other hot springs. But, rooms are beautiful and dinner buffet excellent.
