Subscribe to the Eat Sleep Cruise YouTube Channel if you love to travel and cruise the world! https://www.youtube.com/c/EatSleepCruise1?sub_confirmation=1 We just traveled for the first time in six months, sadly, it was not a cruise. However, there were several developments this past week that make us hopeful that cruising will resume soon. Donโ€™t worry if you missed any of these headlines. Catch up with all of the major stories with our latest edition of cruise news for all the major cruise lines. If you enjoy the video, please make sure to give it a BIG THUMBS UP! Executive leadership for the worldโ€™s largest cruise lines met this past week to discuss the future of cruising from the United States. During the meeting at the Miami cruise port, these leaders were steadfast that the time has come to resume cruising. While all attendees were vocal that cruising can resume safely, the most forceful of the group was Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings CEO, Frank Del Rio, who was adamant that cruising can be safe during the pandemic. In other encouraging cruise news, Carnival Corporation had its first ship set sail this past week. Costa Deliziosa completed its first cruise catering exclusively to Italian residents. The ship also visited only Italian ports. Many safety protocols were in place, including rapid COVID-19 testing, temperature checks, and alterations to venues to encourage social distancing. Along with this debut, brand ambassador, John Heald, also posted on social media that the company is optimistic about beginning short cruises soon from the U.S. hopefully by November. Royal Caribbean also announced this past week new details about its safety protocols which features the use of its mobile app. The app will enable technologies, such as digital check-in, and support improved boarding to maintain social distance. Another feature is the new Muster 2.0, which will allow individuals to complete the muster drill requirement without waiting in large groups. Touchless access to staterooms and in-cabin controls via the app will also be available on some ships. Lastly, the Bahamas provided updates to its return to tourism plan. Government officials unveiled that the country will enter Phase 3 of its reopening on October 15th. This opening coincides with the holiday travel season. More hotels and beaches are expected to open during this phase. Still, individuals need proof of a negative COVID-19 test and will need to "vacation in place" when visiting the country. Still, there is no date when Phase 4 will resume, which includes opening more attractions and allowing cruise ships.
