MSC Preziosa departure struggle with wind & tide Southampton Docks 24/04/18

On Tuesday evening the 24th April 2018 the MSC Cruise Ship 'MSC Preziosa' departed from Southampton's City Cruise Terminal for a 4 Night Msc Grand Voyages Cruise to Kiel in Germany, calling at Le Havre & Zeebrugge. She left the quayside at about 20:20pm only 20 minutes later from her planned departure however as she left she had a bit of a struggle fighting against the wind and tide with her ship thrusters as the bow thrusters seemed to keep cutting out in trying to turn the ship before she could pass Mayflower Park to begin her cruise. It was thought at one stage she might need a tug to help her & the crowd that gathered to watch her depart all held their breath. It did seem likes ages before the pilot and captain managed to regain control of the ship thrusters, 'MSC Preziosa' will next be in port here in Southampton on the 12th Sept 2018.
