YouTube Video Description

I wanted to make a short video explaining my favorite cabin type and location on a cruise ship.  If you're unfamiliar with it, cruise ships typically have 3 types of cabins. THE FIRST CABIN TYPE ARE INSIDE CABINS - An inside cabin is exactly that. It's on the inside of the ship meaning that it does not have any windows to view the exterior. Although some of the new cruise ships have technology that provides artificial natural light. This can help give you the feeling of natural light and make the interior cabin more manageable. These cabins are great if you're traveling on a budget and wouldn't otherwise cruise.  Tip, if you do have an inside cabin keep your TV tuned to the front of the ship channel. This will keep you aware of what is happening outside. THE 2ND TYPE OF CABIN IS AN OUTSIDE CABIN - These cabins are on the outside of the cruise ship and have a window. The ability to look out of your cabin window to see where you are going is nice. Many of the newer ships have limited outside window cabins because they have so many balcony cabins. Most new cruise ships have more than 50% of their cabins configured as balcony cabins.  FINALLY, THE 3RD CABIN TYPE IS A BALCONY CABIN. I won't go into any detail about suites in this video. That will be a video for another day. Balcony cabins  are everyone's favorite and sometimes you can get a great deal on a balcony cabin especially on last minute cruises.  A standard balcony cabin is what we typically book when we take a cruise. There is a particular type of balcony cabin that is by far my favorite. Some newer ships are now putting suites in these locations but not all ships. My favorite cabin and location is a corner balcony cabin. The reason I like corner balcony cabins so much is because they offer much larger balconies.  If you enjoy spending time on your balcony or perhaps you're cruising with a larger group having this extra balcony space will really come in handy. Check out some of the footage I took of different corner balconies from a couple recent cruises. If you can book in advance or get a deal on a corner balcony I would really encourage you to go for it. But don't get me wrong. As much as I would love the larger balcony I won't pay double the normal fare because I would prefer to take 2 cruises in a regular balcony cabin than 1 cruise in a corner balcony but it''s definitely something to keep in mind.  Also keep in mind that if you're cruising on a budget obstructed view cabins can be an excellent option to save some money. But keep in mind that some obstructed views can be much worse than others. Usually if you Google search the ship name and cabin number, chances are you will find a photo of that particular obstructed view uploaded by another passenger. Please leave a comment below and let me know what your favorite cabin type is. I would love to hear your thoughts and know what ship you had the pleasure of cruising on. -------------- New Videos Every WEEK! - Join our YouTube family!
