Grab a beverage and join us as we pass through the Gatun Locks in Panama. We are aboard the Island Princess cruise ship traveling from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles. I set this video to 8X speed since it took over 70 minutes to get through the 3 locks with a distance of 1.5 km. These are the first set of locks on the Eastern opening of the Panama Canal. These locks are the "old locks" and accommodate ships less than 1,000 feet long.
