Puerto Vallarta Cruise Port Day: Malecón, Local Culture, Food & Spa Relaxation 🇲🇽🌴

This was our first time visiting Puerto Vallarta, and it ended up being one of our favorite cruise port days so far 🇲🇽✨ For this stop, we decided to explore on our own instead of booking a shore excursion. We took a taxi from the port and spent the day walking the Malecón, checking out public art sculptures, historic landmarks, and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the city. We visited the Puerto Vallarta Maritime Museum, where we learned about the area’s naval history and even tried our hand at parking a ship in a simulator. We also watched the incredible Danza de los Voladores ceremony, a UNESCO-recognized cultural tradition, right along the Malecón. After a full morning of exploring, we grabbed lunch near the action (not the most authentic, but it hit the spot!) and enjoyed some unexpected street performances. We then headed back to the ship early to relax with a day pass to the Mandara Spa, unwinding in the thermal suite before ending the day with a beautiful sunset over Puerto Vallarta.
