I've just stayed in my first mini-suite on a cruise ship ever. It was on Regal Princess, during a 4-night mini-cruise to Rotterdam and the cabin was #R219 (R stands for Riviera which is the 14th floor). It had a balcony too - all mini-suites come with a balcony - and is in the middle of the ship, towards the front. There was a lovely view of the bridge from my balcony. This video gives a tour and inside look at the cabin as well as discussing the pros and cons of getting a mini-suite versus a balcony cabin, which is what I normally book. A mini-suite is one grade up from a balcony cabin (or a deluxe balcony cabin) and there are some perks, shown in the video. One is space (obviously); the other is a BATH! I loved having a bath tub. And then there are the curtains which divide the 'bedroom' area from the lounge, offering privacy if you turn the lounge into a sofa bed/sleeping area for kids or friends. And then there are things like daily canapes left in the room as well as a welcome glass of champagne which the steward brings to the cabin and pours for you. I even got given a second little bottle of champers! This really was living the high life - watch the video and you'll see what I mean. And my next video will be a review of the whole of Regal Princess cruise ship.
