http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Another day had a morning shore landing on Gashamna (Goose Bay) that has much of historical value; remnants of whaling from 1618-1650 and Russian and Norwegian overwintering trapping. Whale bones, whale bones and more whale bones littered the beach. Once Steve and I finished looking at more than I'll ever want to see again in this lifetime on a raw and rainy day, we jumped in the next Zodiac back to the ship. Way too much ice made an afternoon shore landing on Burgerbukta impossible. Instead, a frigging cold Zodiac cruise for two hours through the ice; one-hour too long, in my opinion and yes, I know, there's always the possibility of a Polar Bear sighting but it took forever to warm up after. That being said, the ice was gorgeous! Blue bergs and we listened to the ice, snap, crackle and popping away in the water. Just one more day of cruising...
