Disney Cruise transfers can be great for the right people and the right reasons; however, they shouldn't be seen as a get on the ship early pass ESPECIALLY for ports like Galveston (and depending on your status or if you're concierge.) Disney offers cruise transfers to the port from airport/certain hotels and back. Cost of these transfers vary, but the average is $45-55 per person one way, with littles under 2 free. If you're sailing with toddlers, flying in and want to avoid getting your own transportation, or just like Disney that much- it's a great option. In Port Canaveral, the pros increase especially if you do the airport transfer and arrive early as they also check you in for your cruise inside the airport. However, in Galveston where the bus ride is quite a bit longer (~80/90 mins) and the airport terminals are a bit more chaotic with mostly standing room only for waiting for that transfer, the timing of getting to the port along with the hour plus of standing and waiting to get on the bus may not be worth that not so Disney magic of a bus ride. And unlike Florida, you probably won't have Mickey cartoons to keep anyone entertained either. That said, options are all seemingly limited out of Houston. @thetexastaxi might be the best option, but if you know of others comment below!
