I was on the maiden voyage of Richard Branson & Virgin Voyages brand new second adult-only cruise ship Valiant Lady as we sailed from Portsmouth in the UK to Zeebrugge in Belgium for a 3-night long weekender sailing. This was my first Virgin cruise and I came to it with fresh eyes and...guess what...I REALLY liked it. This review offers an inside look and review of the whole ship, from the cabins (mine was a sea terrace) to the rockstar suites. I was allowed a sneak peek of a Posh Rockstar suite, one of the most expensive, poshest cabins on board. I was also allowed onto Richard's exclusive rooftop terrace sundeck where all suite guests are allowed to hang - it has amazing day beds to chill on and exclusive cocktails too. I put the bar's signature cocktail - Richard's Ginger Beer - to the test. Watch the video to see what I think of it. The ship is adult-only, but there's plenty of childlike fun to be had, from seesaws to the scary trampoline to the mud room in the spa. Talking of the ship's spa - it is divine, with heated marble slabs to lay on and sauna and salt rooms with amazing sea views. I explore Valiant Lady's pool, hot tubs, the very red jogging track, the yoga suite (all exercise classes are free but you need to book early) and of course the nightlife and shows. There's a circus show which is extraordinarily good. I also explore the restaurants. Virgin ships are NOT like most other liners. Balconies have hammocks on them and there is no main dining room. Instead there are 20 included specialty restaurants. Watch on to see which are my favorites. This really is a ship like no other, from its tattoo parlour (dare I have one done on board?) to its record shop...Valiant Lady is refreshingly different as was its Scarlet Night (where everyone wears red, including the guests, and the ship turns red too) which is held on every Virgin ship once a voyage. I would LOVE to sail on this ship in the Mediterranean - I know it would be awesome. P.S. Valiant Lady is a sister ship to Scarlet Lady, which was the first to join the Virgin Voyages fleet.
