Voyager of the Seas Greek Isles Itinerary Review Royal Caribbean Santorini, Mykonos, Ephesus, Sicily
Description from YouTube
Visiting Greece and Sicily were on our bucket lists. In the fall, we thought we had found the perfect cruise to sample these amazing destinations and more. So, we booked a trip on Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas. We review the Greek Isles Itinerary: Civitavecchia (Rome) - Naples - Messina, Sicily - Santorini - Ephesus (Turkey) - Mykonos - Athens. We loved this itinerary and had a blast. The trip also gave us a sneak peek at several places we will likely return to for longer stays: Santorini, Sicily and Turkey. We spent several days in Rome before the tour, to get acclimated to the timezone, and to return to one of our favorite cities on the planet. In Naples, we took a city tour and ate amazing pizza. We lamented not re-visiting Sorrento, Capri or Pompeii. In Messina, we took an excursion to Mt. Etna and Taormina. Both stops were wonderful and we definitely plan to go back and spend more quality time in Sicily. Our next stop was Santorini. The clifftop town and surrounding area are just as beautiful as we had heard. Stunning views everywhere, and great food! Ephesus was a great surprise for us. Amazing history, intriguing local culture and nice people. Our first glimpse of Turkey and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Our guide was Nazim and we'd highly recommend him for a private tour. HIs phone number is coming soon. Mykonos was another beautiful Greek island. Famous for its windmills, it is also a sweet little seaside town. Again... with great food. #greekisles #cruising #royalcaribbean #santorini #ephesus #mykonos Sunshine Vagabonds are a recently retired couple living in Florida trying to catch up on travel we missed over the years.
