We have come across several beautiful waterfalls in our travels… and Tahquamenen Falls is definitely it the top of that list!! There is actually an entire state park built around these falls! We thought this would be a quick stop off, stay for 30 minutes to an hour looking at the falls… boy we were wrong! We spent the whole afternoon here!! There are two falls, the upper and the lower. The Upper falls are grand and dramatic and there is a walking path that takes you to several overlooks for great views! But the lower falls are spectacular!! Here you can get INTO the waterfall!! There are areas that are very shallow with a smooth easy walk into the water. Definitely recommend water shoes here as the rocks can be slick. Work your way in and you can go all the way under the waterfall.
