We need cruising back. There is no doubt about it - the path to a recovered cruise industry is not clear, and if anything it's about as convoluted as it could seem right now. The economic impact of cruising around the world is far too great to ignore. Assuming the health implications of COVID are dealt with, it's important that we are able to restart the cruising industry sooner rather than later. Taking into account the global economic impact of cruising, we can't ignore the impact on the Australian economy and in particular, on small towns around Australia. Cruising is such an integral part of the tourism industry down under and there are so many people reliant on it for their livelihoods. I would love to see domestic cruising restart - how and when, I don't know. A considered approach is necessary, but it's something that the government needs to consider in the greater scheme of economic recovery plans.
