🌊 After a relaxing (and honestly pretty uneventful 😅) Sea Day aboard Independence of the Seas, we arrived in beautiful San Juan, Puerto Rico, ready for an adventure! What started as a simple walk through Old San Juan quickly turned into one of our favorite experiences of the cruise as we explored the incredible Fort San Cristóbal. From breathtaking views overlooking the city and ocean to winding tunnels, historic guard towers, and centuries of history, this place absolutely blew us away. Did you know Fort San Cristóbal is the largest fortification built by the Spanish in the Americas? Construction began in 1634 and took more than 150 years to complete! The fort covers over 27 acres and was designed to protect San Juan from land attacks, helping defend Puerto Rico for centuries.
