Creator's Key Takeaways

So, we have chosen to reveal ourselves to you and offer the sanctuary needed for survival within our city's lonely wall

It was really cool cuz the first time they did it, they had to reset it because not it didn't reset. So, we all got onto the same team, which was the first time that's happened.

It was a great day on the ship. San Juan, we've done before. It's a very short time in port. So, unless you're doing something or you want to get off, it is a really, really great day to stay on the ship

I'm glad we did it. I'm glad we got that experience. I'm glad I was able to kind of share the content.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Give yourself at least an hour for laser tag, as it includes check-in and waiting time.
Try the zip line while in port to avoid lines and go multiple times.
If you're not pool people, a casita may not be necessary, but it can be a nice splurge for a chill day.

Staying Onboard in San Juan, Puerto Rico | Oasis of the Seas Spring Break Cruise Vlog Day 4 of our Royal Caribbean Spring Break cruise aboard Oasis of the Seas brought us to beautiful San Juan — but this time, we decided to skip the port and stay onboard for the day. Honestly, it ended up being one of our favorite days of the cruise! Since we’ve visited San Juan before and didn’t have anything specific planned, we turned this port day into an extra “sea day” and took advantage of all the activities onboard with much smaller crowds. I started the morning by heading to the Lime & Coconut Bar on Deck 16 right at 9:00 AM to check in for our casita rental. Since Deck 16 had been closed the previous day due to weather, I wasn’t able to request a specific casita in advance, but luckily I still got the one I wanted, Casita 14. This location was perfect because it overlooked Splashaway Bay and was super close to the Windjammer. Having a casita for the day was such a nice upgrade and gave us a relaxing home base between activities. Our first activity of the day was “Laser Tag: Clash for the Crystal City,” one of our favorite free activities onboard. Reservations are required, and you usually won’t know the schedule until you’re onboard the ship. On past cruises, laser tag was offered in the evenings, but this sailing had daytime sessions and only on port days. One tip: make sure you allow about an hour total from check-in to check-out. It’s absolutely worth it though because it’s so much fun. This was actually the first time all three of us ended up on the same team… and we won! After laser tag, we changed and headed to the pool deck. Since it was a port day, the ship was noticeably less crowded, which made a huge difference. Most of the extra activities like the zipline and rock climbing wall didn’t open until 2 PM, so definitely check the Royal Caribbean app for activity times each day. We enjoyed: - The pool with minimal crowds - Splashaway Bay - The Cyclone Slide with almost no wait - Ultimate Abyss & Zipline with No Waits Having the casita made the entire day even more relaxing. Later in the afternoon, we headed back to do some of the bigger onboard attractions. One thing to know: for many activities, you must be completely dry and wearing socks and closed-toe shoes. First up was the Ultimate Abyss slide. It was still fun, although it felt much slower than I remembered from previous sailings. Next was the zipline. I went first, but when it was Rider’s turn, he got a little nervous and decided to skip it, so Ray went instead. The best part? There was literally ZERO wait. One little girl had already ridden it six times! If you want to experience the onboard attractions multiple times without long lines, port days are absolutely the way to do it. After all the activities, we went back to the casita to relax before heading to the room to recharge for dinner. I also treated myself to another salon wash and blow dry, which has honestly become my personal cruise splurge every sailing. Since we had such a long day, we decided to keep dinner simple and head to the Windjammer and it ended up being a great choice. They even had a huge ice cream sundae bar that Rider absolutely loved. Was Staying Onboard in San Juan Worth It? Absolutely. Staying onboard in San Juan gave us the opportunity to enjoy so many activities with little to no wait, relax by the pool without fighting crowds, and save money by skipping a shore excursion. It ended up feeling like a bonus sea day, and we’re so glad we made the decision to stay on the ship. If you’re cruising on an Oasis Class ship, don’t overlook port days as the perfect opportunity to experience the ship with fewer crowds!
