Creator's Key Takeaways
The way the view restaurant is set up along with the food on offer makes it one of the best buffets we've come across over the 40 plus cruises we've done.
We really enjoyed the experience and the variety of wines chosen was delicious.
We can't fault the staff. They've been exceptional. The food has been wonderful. The itinerary was brilliant, and we got to see the Northern Lights on more than one occasion.

Fred. Olsen Borealis Northern Lights Cruise | Final Day Vlog – Wine Tasting, Afternoon Tea & More! Welcome to the 10th and final episode of our Fred. Olsen Borealis Northern Lights Cruise Series! Today, we’re rounding off our incredible 10-night adventure in style — with sunshine at sea, delicious food, a wine tasting experience, afternoon tea with live violinists, and a final surprise Northern Lights display! We kicked off the day with a late riser's breakfast at the Poolside Café, followed by what might have been the best buffet lunch of the cruise at The View Restaurant. Honestly, we’ve done over 40 cruises, and this buffet setup was a standout! With the sun shining and the sea looking almost too calm to be real, we made the most of the beautiful weather — from selfies on the Observation Deck to a scenic stroll on the promenade deck and even a special walk out on the Forecastle deck, something you rarely get to do on cruise ships these days. Next up: a wine tasting experience (£40pp) featuring 6 wines, cheese, and nibbles — hosted by the ever-knowledgeable Ivan. Then it was time for a bit of indulgence with premium afternoon tea in the Observatory Lounge (£13pp) — complete with fizz and sweet treats, all enjoyed to the sound of live violin music. Pure bliss. For our final dinner, we dined in the elegant Borealis Restaurant, then headed up to the Observatory Bar one last time to say farewell to the amazing crew — and that’s when it happened… The Northern Lights — AGAIN! Just when we thought it couldn’t get better, we were treated to a second night of magical aurora sightings. What a spectacular way to end our cruise! We disembarked in Newcastle, but the memories (and the footage) will stay with us forever. Huge thanks to Fred. Olsen for their hospitality and to the amazing staff onboard Borealis — you truly made this cruise unforgettable. 🔔 Subscribe for more cruise vlogs, ship tours, and travel content! 👍 If you enjoyed this video, please give it a like — it really helps support our channel.
