Nearly 20 years after I worked onboard, I went back to see whether Aurora still has the magic… or whether nostalgia had been doing most of the heavy lifting. In this video, I’m counting down ten things I love and ten things I hate about P&O Aurora in 2026. We’ve got one of the best promenade decks at sea, a proper old-school cruise ship atmosphere, excellent guest entertainers, a surprisingly emotional return to my old stomping ground, and enough classic cruising charm to make me consider wearing a tailcoat and sipping apple juice like a gentleman. BUT we’ve also got strange venue choices, buffet hygiene villains, pointless “champagne bar” nonsense, questionable puddings, vaping peasants, future cruise sales drama, and a shop counter that has a LOT to answer for. Aurora might be small by modern standards, but she still casts a massive shadow over my life at sea. Is she dated? Absolutely. Is she flawed? Of course. Do I blinkin’ love her anyway?
