YouTube Video Descriptionโ
After visiting Birmingham for Commonwealth Games on a Saturday early August, we went to Woodstock near Oxford the next day to visit the splendid stately home Blenheim Palace. UNESCO heritage listed, it's the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Blenheim Palace was built as a gift to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, from Queen Anne and a grateful nation in thanks for his victory at the Battle of Blenheim on 13th August 1704. Today, the Palace is home to one of the most important and extensive collections in Europe, which includes portraits, furniture, sculpture and tapestries. Amongst the many treasures to be found in the State Rooms are the famous Marlborough Tapestries ( the 'Victories Series') in the Green Writing Room and the First, Second and Third State Rooms https://www.blenheimpalace.com/ 0:00 Preview 0:42 Leaving Birmingham 0:55 Intro 1:31 Arrived Blenheim Palace 2:37 Great Court 2:48 History 3:44 Duel History 5:16 Duel Action 5:57 Ice-cream 6:15 Formal Gardens 8:10 Churchill Exhibition 9:23 Palace tour 11:09 Churchill's Birthroom 12:02 Marlborough Maze 12:19 Lavender Garden 12:34 The Stable 13:15 Oxford
