Today when you get an email from a cruise line about an upgrade it's more of an upsell. So I actually always call them upsells. I refuse to call them upgrades.
I almost never do cruise line excursions... I get a private driver for the entire day. It's a built-in tour guide. They take me where I want to go on my own time... And the kicker, a lot of times... hiring a private driver is cheaper.
