Phang Nga Bay Tour in Phuket, Thailand - What to do on Your Day in Port
YouTube Video Description↓
This is a look at a ship sponsored (purchased onboard a cruise ship) shore excursion in Phuket Thailand. The name of the tour was "Phang Nga Bay" and it was very good with several different parts. It is $76 per person US, 96 AU. The tour lasted about 8 or 9 hours. It stopped at Wat Suwan Khuha Temple. Also known as the Cave Temple. It was pretty cool with a golden reclining Buddha and lots of monkeys around. Then we drove to the Phang Nga Bay Hotel and had a buffet lunch. It was very good with many different local dishes. Outside the hotel, we boarded Longtail Boats for our journey on the water. We boated to Khao Phing Kan (James Bond Island). Parts of "The Man With the Golden Gun" were filmed there. The tour does not stop at the island, which is very crowded. Next, we stopped at Ko Panyi. Ko Panyi is a fishing village in Phang Nga Province, notable for being built on stilts by Indonesian fishermen. We walked around there for a while and did some shopping. It has a lot of shopping. We then went back to the hotel we ate at and got back on the busses. On the way back to the ship we stopped at the Si Supalak Orchid Cashew Nuts factory store. It was a store that sells cashew and other food items and souvenirs. When we got back to the port, there were plenty of vendors selling the same things we saw on the tour, maybe less. Everyone bargains. The real drawbacks of the tour were the hectic pace, the long bus ride (3 hours + round trip) and the forced stop at the cashew nut place. We would have rather stopped almost anywhere else. At least it wasn't a long stop. We hope you enjoy the videos and your next cruise. Please Subscribe to our channel, Port Monkeys.
