YouTube Video Description↓

It's finally travel day! This was a long day. Sarah arrived around 3:30AM on Thursday, 6/13, which also happened to be the day we were planning to drive from our home in Orlando to the hotel we had booked in Fort Lauderdale. We were very lucky. What I didn't realize at the time of filming was that Fort Lauderdale was under flash flood warnings due to storms in the area. Many of our fellow passengers on the cruise had to change their plans at the last minute; some of them ended up flying into Orlando and driving or taking the Brightline train down to Fort Lauderdale. I knew there were storms in the area, but we didn't get rained on during our drive on Thursday evening. I keep mentioning the Park and Stay rate - If you're confused about this, I'll go into more detail about it in a pinned comment below and maybe in a video near the end of this series. Mom and Emma and I all worked on our Travel Day, so we didn't end up leaving the house until after 7pm. It was fortunately an uneventful drive to get down to Fort Lauderdale. Parking was no issue at all, and we had a nice room near the port to stay in overnight before embarking the cruise on Friday. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Ft. Lauderdale / Downtown Las Olas Area 250 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 It was maybe a 15 minute Uber drive to the port the next morning.
