First of all, Vancouver is a beautiful city and I can't wait to go back and spend more time there. For our one full day that we had to explore this lovely city, we did the hop-on hop-off bus tour in Vancouver. It was a noisy, bumpy ride, but we got a couple of loops around the city, with door-to-door service to some of the most popular spots to visit, all with a guided tour! I really loved the bus tour, and would recommend it (for anyone without a stroller, ambulator, or motion sickness issues). We decided to do a full lap around the city first, before getting off. This would give us a little orientation, and then we could decide which stop to get off at. We ended up walking from our hotel to Canada Place first thing in the morning, to start the bus tour at stop #1. You don't have to do this, but we enjoyed it, and the walk wasn't too far for us to go. We purchased tickets there at Canada Place, hopped on the first bus of the day, and made almost a full lap around the city. We ended up getting off at the last stop in Gastown, just in time to check out a gift shop before the famous Steam Clock dinged the top of the hour. From there, we walked to a place to have lunch, Browns Crafthouse, and had a marvelous experience. Then we walked back to the hotel to ditch a layer of clothing, as the day was warming up. We hopped back on the bus right there at the public library, steps away from our hotel, and our next hop-off stop was Stanley Park. We loved the peaceful park, and getting to see the bridge we would be sailing under the next day. After hopping back on the bus, we hopped off again at Granville Island. This was another great stop! We got to check out Granville Island Brewing, walk around the island, and then Liberty Distillery, before hopping back on one of the last buses of the day. It dropped us off right there next to our hotel, where we met friends and headed to The Eater E for a delicious sushi dinner. I loved Vancouver. I loved the greenery and friendly people, the walkable city, the coffee shops and food and shopping all within reach. It was a truly perfect day.
