Hurtigruten is a cruise liner like no other. It's a Norwegian cruise line which offers no-frills, small-ship expedition cruising with a difference - although their newest ships are actually rather plush (meet MS Fridtjof Nansen). I think of it as a cruise line for people who don't like cruising. Wherever you sail the main entertainment is the scenery - there are no shows or dancing or night-life like on bigger cruise ships. I've been on three of their ships - MS FRIDTJO NANSEN (one of the newest hybrid-powered additions), MS MAUD (this has just been refurbished and renamed - when I sailed on it it was called MS MIDNATSOL) and MS NORDNORGE. I sailed around the UK on Nansen, to Antarctica on MS Maud and I did a hiking cruise expedition along the Norway coast on Nordnorge. Each voyage was brilliant, memorable and unique and the aim of this video is to give you a flavor of each to help you decide which Hurtigruten cruise ship to pick and to where.
