We are in Boston for the first time ever! Tomorrow we set sail on the Norwegian Pearl to Bermuda, but since we had never been to Boston before, we wanted to come in a couple of days early to explore the city! We start early in the morning with the hop-on-hop-off Old Town Trolley. We have found that these tours are the best way to learn any new city we visit! After seeing some great sites, we hop off on stop #5 to visit Quincy Market for lunch. This is a great place to get all kinds of food in one place... we grabbed a slice of pizza, a gyro wrap, a lobster roll and New England clam chowder, how is that for variety! We jumped back on the trolley to get off on stop #8 to visit to most famous bar in the US... Cheers! Where everybody knows your name? Well no one knew ours, and Norm wasn't there, but we enjoyed a pint in this nostalgic location! Across the street is Boston Commons, so we decided the rest of our day would be on foot. We walked all through the park, the beautiful neighborhood of Beacon Hill and we even found a cemetary founded in the 1600s where most of the gravestones were so old you couldn't read the inscriptions! We ended our night at what I like to call Tavern Row in downtown. We started with a visit to the Sam Adams Taphouse and ended with the oldest one in the United States, the Bell in Hand Tavern.
