Panama Canal Cruise Day 2 At Sea :: Platinum Reception and Formal Night

Our second day aboard the Disney Wonder was a day at sea. We had preordered a room service breakfast tray on the first night, so we had coffee and a light breakfast in our stateroom before we began exploring the ship. Our first stop outside the stateroom was the French Quarter Lounge; there was a special event on the navigator that we'd never seen before! Happy Hour from 7:30AM to 8:30AM which involved a specialty coffee and two beignets for less than $5! After a couple of coffees, we set off to explore the Crown and Fin Pub, which is filled with easter eggs from Disney films and other British influences. While we were sitting in the Crown and Fin we chatted with Guest Services on the app...but it wasn't a very pleasant experience. App trouble and other issues were contributary to our dissatisfaction with that encounter. (eventually we got everything figured out, but it took several chats and several days to get it all straightened out) At 10:30 we went to D Lounge for the first part of the Gold and Platinum reception. I think it was around 10:45 they asked us all to leave and head to the Walt Disney Theater for the second part of the reception. It was a special experience. After the reception, we were both hungry, so we went up to deck 9 and had some Shawarma from Pete's Boiler Bites beside the Quiet Cove pool. We spend a couple of hours hanging out poolside before going to a trivia and then finally getting ready for formal night. Our formal night dinner was in Triton's. The menu served this night is one of my favorites; with the deep fried brie, french onion soup, and chateaubriand. Yum! After dinner, we got some photos taken by the photographers onboard. Then we went to the stateroom and put on comfier clothes. Between dinner and our late-evening cognac tasting at 9:30 we walked around and did the photo challenge for the day. Our Cognac tasting was led by Leyston in the Cove Cafe. We learned a lot and got to explore the world of Cognac. Then it was bedtime. Thanks so much for watching!
