Singapore Cultural Delights & Retail Therapy: Fort Canning Park, Armenian Church & Raffles City Mall

Join us on a fantastic day in Singapore which begins as we take the taxi from Singapore Port to the Fairmont hotel, our base for the next four nights. We will show you around our room, explore every nook and cranny and you will also see the fantastic views of Singapore from this top floor room. Then we will start our exploration of the city and our first visit is to the Armenian Church of Gregory the Illuminator, the oldest Christian church in Singapore. The Armenians were among the earliest merchants and traders to arrive in Singapore after Raffles established it as a trading port in 1819. It has a fabulous pristine white exterior and grounds filled with unique bronze statues and tribute to persecuted Armenian civilians. Next, we'll venture into the serene oasis of Fort Canning Park, a verdant retreat amidst the bustling city. We will take you through the park's lush vegetation, uncovering hidden corners and historical sites. Whether it's the statues, ancient artifacts or the picturesque landscapes, Fort Canning Park offers a tranquil escape that contrasts with the urban energy of Singapore. Our journey continues at Raffles City Mall, a bustling hub of shopping and entertainment. From fashion boutiques to diverse dining options, We will show the mall's vibrant atmosphere as we seek out a restaurant for dinner. Whether you're a shopping enthusiast or a casual browser, Raffles City Mall offers something for everyone. To conclude our day, we'll experience an unforgettable evening meal at Putein, a renowned dining spot in Singapore. We savor the unique flavors of our evening meal, you'll witness the perfect culmination of a day filled with culinary delights and cultural exploration in the heart of Singapore. We made a bucket list of places we want to visit and Steve’s choice was Asia, he loves the continent, enjoys exploring the culture and landscapes. So we booked a cruise with Celebrity Cruises adding on some hotel days at the start and end of the holiday to explore Hong Kong and Singapore. Neither of us have been to the places on this itinerary previously. So on this adventure we explore on our own and we also take ship excursions to maximise our time and experience.
