Join us as we embark on an unforgettable cruise to the stunning fjords of Norway aboard the Celebrity Apex! We start with an overnight stay at Southhampton the night before our cruise, a new hotel for us, the Holiday Inn Express some 4 miles from the port, we will give you a room tour! The following day we step onboard this luxurious Edge-class ship, and start to feel the excitement and anticipation of a voyage filled with breathtaking scenery and Retreat amenities. On arrival at the port the check-in process is super smooth and seamless , from parking, bag drop to getting checked in a matter of a few minutes we are boarding the ship. This is the first time we have cruised on an Edge class ship and we are looking forward to exploring it and discovering all its features, lounges, restaurants and entertainment areas. We head to our stateroom, a spacious Magic Carpet Sky Suite, to get rid of our bags and allow us to explore the ship unencumbered. We are too early for our muster station so it is a quick trip up to the Retreat to see what this 'ship within a ship' amenity is like. It is very different to the Retreat we have been used to; much larger with far more people. It spans two levels with a sun deck, two bars, relaxation spaces and a lounge. After going to the muster station we decide to try out Luminae and a spot of lunch, it is very familiar, we do like the food in the Retreat. We step into the Grand Plaza, the heart of the ship, very different to the Solstice class ships, we take in the striking modern design and we just had to try one, or maybe two, of Celebrity's signature Martinis at the Martini Bar in its centre. We tour some of the ship’s most popular areas, from the Eden, to the Theatre, the Sun decks and take in some of the restaurants as we wander around the ship. Finally, we capture the magical moment as the Celebrity Apex pulls away from Southampton , sailing into the open waters towards the dramatic landscapes of Norway’s fjords. This embarkation day video will give you a sense of our excitement and adventure as we start our cruise through Norway’s stunning coastal beauty, all from the comfort of one of Celebrity Cruises' most advanced ships!
