Vicsapa from Hanoi to Sapa - Luxury train from Hanoi to Lao Cai in a King Suite

We love an overnight train and have travelled on a few but today we join the legendary Hanoi to Lao Cai Luxury train with VicSapa in their King Suite. We set off from the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake in the middle of a tropical storm but get to the train station and show you the VIP room. Once we board we show you the cabin. It's tight and the bed takes up most of the space in the cabin. It is also at the end of the carraige on top of the bogeys so don't go expecting a good nights sleep. We show you the single cabins which we would have chosen as they were a better and more comfortable option. The air conditioning runs cold and is not adjustable so bring a blanket unless you like it Arctic. It was not the best sleep we have had and we were glad to get off in Lao Cai. We have a pick up to take us to our hotel in Sapa and we stay at the Hotel de la Couploe in Sapa and that will be shown in our next video. After a few dates in Sapa we start to head back and the train comfort level does not get any better. The train is the same regardless of who you book through, VicSapa just sell the seats (or beds) on the carriage. There are a few providers but all will be on the same train, just a different carriage. We arrive back in Hanoi with a top tip to avoid the walkway and stairs with your luggage. Get a porter.
