It was a beautiful day today. I cannot get over the weather today because it cleared up. It got sunny. It got warm. It was just beautiful.

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect day in Hannes today. Truly.

I had a really wonderful day. The only problem was I didn't find a t-shirt I wanted or a sweatshirt and that was the only disappointing part.

YouTube Video Description

Our day in Haines didn't go the way we had planned, but we still had a beautiful day. Instead of the glassblowing shore excursion we had booked previously, Emma decided to stay on the ship while Mom and I explored the sleepy, scenic town. Our first stop right off the ship was Whale Rider Gallery, followed by The Wild Iris and then Dejohn Delights. We walked past the distillery, which wasn't open yet, to the Post Office. We walked past the American Bald Eagle Foundation. We walked to what I believe could be called Downtown Haines. The brewery was open, so we sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed a few small 5oz pours. Then we walked toward the Haines Sheldon Museum. We didn't go in, but we had lunch at the Lighthouse Restaurant before walking back up the street to Three Northmen Meadery and Cidery. Then we walked back toward the ship, stopping at the Port Chilkoot Distillery before reboarding the ship. We had some ice cream before dinner and then watched the ship sail away from Haines as we began to anticipate our Glacier Bay visit tomorrow.
