Creator's Key Takeaways
we are Steve and Jan a retired couple our channel is about what we get up to in retirement
this will be our third visit here and the approach along the f is one of the key reasons that we love coming to Norway
the reason we are here now at this time in this date is that because since 2018 the clock has been ticking down as we approach 2026 when the Norwegian government ruled that all Cris ships to all Norwegian world heritage sites had to be zero emissions
overall the experience of using the Magic Carpet to Tender was really really good it was super convenient they got quick disembarkation and it was a relatively short trip then to get on to land

Content Today we arrive at Geirangera stunning village in western Norway, located at the head of the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its striking beauty. This place is the reason we decided to make this trip on this occasion as we originally wanted to make sure that we were able to take in it's dramatic landscapes, steep mountains, lush greenery, and crystal clear deep waters, before the Norweign Government restricted cruise ships, we feared it would come off itineraries. The cruise in and out of port is one of fantastic scenery as you are engulfed by the landscapes, this is the Norway we really love and why we come. Today we will tender into the port and do a walking tour around this beautiful area. Taking the waterfall walk we will travel up the side of Storfossen (waterfall) a flight of over 300 steps where we will take in the raw power. At the top we explore some of the houses and views before going to the Norse Fjordsenter Visitor Centre, a museum and educational centre which has a lovely cafe and some great views. We walk along past the old wooden church and back into town exploring the headland before a spot of retail therapy and then back to the ship for another incredible set of views as we cruise back up the Fjord.
