Excellent highways lead through vineyards in the Casablanca Valley until Valparaiso, around 1-1/2 drive from Santiago. Many tour operators in Santiago offer wine tours, Valparaiso only tours, Vina del Mar only tours and different combinations. Valparaiso is Chile's main seaport and also where cruise ships dock. It is a very San Francisco-y city, even on a gloomy day where Vina del Mar was block after block of condominiums and apartments. Let's just call the day, "an experience"...
