On July 3rd 1837, the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company or P&O as it's better known was founded. 180 years later, the name is still going strong with both Cruise Ships and Ferries carrying the brand name and flags - even with the former having undertaken a new look in recent years. This special video marks five years since the Grand Event that was held in Southampton with the seven ships of the fleet at the time all in port on the same day. The same couldn't be done today due to an eight vessel joining the fleet in 2015. The ships are featured in the following order... - "Oriana" (launched 1995) passing Royal Victoria Country Park in May 2017. - "Aurora" (launched in 2000) arriving into Southampton and passing Town Quay in June 2017. - "Oceana" (joined fleet in 2003) passing Mayflower Park in March 2017. - "Arcadia" (launched 2005) passing Royal Victoria Country Park in May 2017. - "Ventura" (launched 2008) departing from the Ocean Terminal and viewed from Town Quay in May 2017. - "Azura" (launched 2010) passing Town Quay in June 2017. - "Adonia" (joined in 2011) departing from the Queen Elizabeth II Cruise Terminal in June 2017. - "Britannia" (launched in 2015) passing Royal Victoria Country Park in May 2017. Happy Anniversary to P&O. Here's to many more years.
