Elizabeth Quay and Barrack Street are both popular destinations in the city of Perth, Western Australia. Elizabeth Quay is a waterfront development located on the Swan River in the central business district of Perth. It covers an area of 10 hectares and was officially opened in January 2016. The development includes a range of attractions such as cafes, restaurants, bars, public art installations, and a playground. Visitors can also take a ride on the Elizabeth Quay Carousel or take a scenic boat ride along the Swan River. At the heart of Elizabeth Quay is the landmark 27-story Ritz-Carlton hotel, which features luxurious accommodation, dining options, and a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city skyline. Elizabeth Quay is also an important transportation hub, with a ferry terminal connecting visitors to destinations such as South Perth, the Perth Zoo, and Fremantle. Barrack Street is a major street in Perth's central business district that runs from The Esplanade in the west to the Causeway in the east. It is named after the historic Barracks that were located on the street during the early days of the Swan River Colony. Today, Barrack Street is home to several important landmarks and attractions, including the Barrack Street Jetty, which is a popular departure point for river cruises and ferries to locations such as Fremantle, Rottnest Island, and the Swan Valley wine region. Other notable attractions on Barrack Street include the Bell Tower, a towering structure with a collection of historic bells and a viewing platform with stunning views of the city; the Perth Town Hall, a heritage-listed building that has been a major landmark in the city since 1870; and St. George's Cathedral, a beautiful neo-gothic cathedral that is the mother church of the Anglican Diocese of Perth. Barrack Street also boasts a range of restaurants, cafes, and bars, making it a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
