5 MAJOR CHANGES TO CRUISES in 2021 *GOOD & BAD* //In this video we discuss major changes to cruising that will affect cruise passengers the most, that are not often talked about. As we look at recent cruise news, there are some pretty important changes being made for when cruises start up again and sail into 2021. While some were in the works over 2020, other changes are new and will have a lasting impact on the cruise industry. 1. Restrictions on the length of cruise. Cruises sailing from the USA will be limited to 7 days or less for most of 2021 due to CDC rules. What happens to cruisers that are already booked on longer cruises? Have cruises been cancelled by the cruise line? 2. New cruise ships will be coming out. This is great news for cruising as Carnival awaits it's new ship, the Mardi Gras. In addition we have new cruise ships Celebrity Apex, Enchanted Princess, MSC Virtuosa, and even Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady that will all be coming out in 2021, after being delayed in 2020. 3. New Technology. New technology will play a big part in how cruises resume and move into the future in 2021 and 2022. Contactless payment and touchless embarkation are new changes for cruising. We will say goodbye to the traditional muster drill as cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises have the Muster 2.0 or EMuster. Princess Cruises has made upgrades and updates to the amazing Ocean Medallion. 4. Air Filtration upgrades. This is good news for cruise passengers and crew. The air filtration beingb updated by all major cruise lines such as Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruises and other brands, is HUGE news for the cruise industry. 5. Vaccines. Vaccines look like they will be a "game changer" for how and when cruises will resume. There is speculation that vaccines might be required, however this is not confirmed. It's likely that at the least it will be highly recommended for cruise passengers, along with the other safety protocols. Please let me know what you think of these changes. These are not cruise predictions, but that will be coming in an upcoming video.
