5 Things You Will See — and 1 Thing You Won’t — on Disney’s Reimagined Jungle Cruise

Walt Disney Imagineering recently announced that its world-famous Jungle Cruise is getting a makeover at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. ~Hop~ along as we take a look at the changes on the reimagined Jungle Cruise! While the update was overdue, this retheming is part of Disney’s efforts to better “reflect and value the diversity of the world around us.” This news follows the recent update of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean and the coming retheming of Splash Mountain. For the first time in the ride’s history, the skippers will not only guide passengers, but they will be part of the storyline. Here are five things you will see — and one thing you won’t — on the reimagined Jungle Cruise: 1. “High” jinx and a full narrative The Jungle Cruise will get a true storyline, centering around a skipper and his fellow explorers. 2. The skippers — and their pun-y jokes Disney Imagineering Creative Portfolio Executive Chris Beatty confirmed to D23 that skippers will get some new source material, but many of their classic jokes aren’t going away. 3. Plenty of monkey business A family of animatronic chimps are coming onboard to help tell the story. 4.
