Creator's Key Takeaways
If you're prone to seasickness, this is the way you want to go. The calm, smooth waters of the inside passage.
I just absolutely loved walking through the forest here in the park. It smelled great. It looked great. It was so peaceful.
The kite flying was excellent. I'm an experienced kite flyer, but this was my first time flying kites from a cruise ship.
It was one of the highlights of the trip.

This is episode #3 of the story of my 2025 Alaska cruise with American Cruise Lines. The name of the cruise ship was American Constitution and the name of the itinerary was Alaskan Explorer. The cruise started in Juneau and finished ten days later in Juneau again. In this episode of my four-part series, the ship takes the inside passage from Glacier Bay to the city of Kodiak, Alaska. In Kodiak, I give you an aerial tour of some scenic parts of the city, including one of the boat harbors, I'm a licensed commercial drone pilot, so this series of videos features a lot of very high quality aerial video. Unfortunately, in certain parts of Alaska it is illegal to fly a drone... such as in national parks and designated federal wilderness areas. So, in Sitka National Historical Park I shot all the footage from ground level. In part 4 of the series, which should come out a week or two after this episode, I'll visit the cities of Sitka and Petersburg... and in part 4 of the series I'll do a lot of scenic cruising, visit the city of Wrangell, and go on a thrilling jet boat ride up a river to see a glacier. Demand for these cruises within the USA, which do not even require a passport, has been soaring... causing American Cruise Lines to embark on a major expansion of their fleet in order to meet the demand. They are currently introducing a new ship to the fleet every four months, and plan to continue doing so for the next several years at least.
