Sunday 11th November 2012 (Remembrance Day) saw three cruise ships in Southampton Docks. P&O Cruises' "Adonia" was docked at the 'Mayflower' Terminal with Royal Caribbean International's "Independence of the Seas" at the 'City' Terminal and Cunard's "Queen Victoria" at the 'Ocean' Terminal. There was some speculation that Saga Cruises' "Saga Ruby" would also be in, but that proved to be untrue. All three ships were originally listed for departure at 16:30, but "Adonia's" was changed to 16:00. The change was true as "Adonia" was already underway by the time I reached the Town Quay. Seeing her sail past "Independence of the Seas" gave an idea of just how small she really is! There was no horn-saluting between the small P&O and the massive Royal Caribbean ships, but "Queen Victoria" saluted "Adonia" as the latter sailed past the Town Quay with "Adonia" returning the favor. After "Adonia" had gone, at 16:30 both "Queen Victoria" and "Independence of the Seas" cast off their moorings and moved away from their respective berths. "Independence of the Seas" made slow progress past the Town Quay to allow "Queen Victoria" to enter the Channel from the 'Ocean' Terminal before following her off down the River Test.
