"Aidastella" and visit of "FGS Frankfurt AM Main" German Naval vessel 26th April 2013.

Early this morning I arrived on Town Quay in the midst of pouring rain in the hope of seeing the early morning arrival of "Aidastella" I was in luck after a wait of about twenty minutes the rain stopped and "Aidastella" arrived on time and berthing at QEll Terminal at about 7:30am from Le Havre which was her last port of call, next to "AIdstella" in berth 40 was the cargo vessel "Georgia Highway". The QM2 was already in Ocean Terminal after arriving from Vigo at about 4:15am much too early for me. I then went round into Mayflower Park to see the arrival of the german naval vessel "FGS Frankfurt AM Main" which duly arrived from Hamburg heading for 102 berth just behind "Black Watch", the german vessel was portside to at just before 10:30am, after being assisted by the tugs "Wyestorm and Wyeforce" they had to escort the german vessel upto the upper swinging ground before turning and coming back to 102 berth port side. "FGS Frankfurt AM Main" will be staying in Southampton untill 30th April. On the way to the berth passing Mayflower Terminal was "Queen Victoria" which arrived earlier from Lisbon at about 6:15am just before "Black Watch" which arrived at about 6:37am from Ponta Delgada and was duly bunkered by the tanker "Syros" which came up from Portland.
