BERGEN, NORWAY | THE PERFECT CRUISE PORT DAY 🇳🇴 Bergen quickly became one of our favorite ports during our four months of cruising Europe—and it's easy to see why. After arriving aboard the Sky Princess, we started our day with an Uber ride to the Ulriken Cable Car. Just minutes later, we were standing on top of Mount Ulriken, the highest of Bergen's famous Seven Mountains, enjoying incredible panoramic views over the city, surrounding fjords, and mountains. From there, we headed back into the heart of Bergen to explore some of the city's most famous attractions. We wandered through Bryggen, the historic Hanseatic Wharf and UNESCO World Heritage Site, discovering colorful wooden buildings, hidden courtyards, and centuries of trading history. We also visited nearly 900-year-old St. Mary's Church before making our way through Bergen's famous Fish Market, where fresh seafood has been sold for hundreds of years. Along the way we passed the Ludvig Holberg Monument, admired the beautiful waterfront, and experienced why Bergen is considered one of Norway's most charming cities. If you're planning a cruise to Norway, Bergen is a port that's incredibly easy to explore on your own—and this is exactly how we spent our day.
