Creator's Key Takeaways

Northstar offers three different variations. First one is the basic one, which is complimentary on port days.

Next up on our list is the very spot that we are right now standing at. This is the little nook right outside.

Make sure you check with the chef or the sue chef and find out which of the dishes are halal if you have that dietary restriction.

So, make sure if you're going on Quantum of the Seas, you do not miss out on that experience.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Book North Star experience about a month prior to boarding to avoid sell-outs.
Check bumper car times and line up early for multiple rides.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas is one of the most innovative mega cruise ships sailing today, and on our 7-day Alaska cruise from Seattle, we discovered some truly unique, visible, and hidden features that make this ship stand out. In this video, we break down the top features we loved most on Quantum of the Seas, starting with North Star, the Guinness World Record-holding viewing platform—the highest observation deck at sea. Rising nearly 300 feet above sea level, North Star offers breathtaking panoramic views. We experienced both the free and premium versions, including the premium ride at Endicott Arm, where we enjoyed unforgettable views of Dawes Glacier. Next, we take you to one of the most fun onboard activities: bumper cars at sea. Located in the SeaPlex, this free activity is available once per day for a limited time and is an amazing first-day cruise activity, especially for families. We also show you a lesser-known viewing area at the very front of the ship. By walking through the adults-only solarium, you’ll find small nooks on both the port and starboard sides, offering incredible forward-facing views—perfect for scenic Alaska cruising. One of the most unexpected highlights was Indian buffet night with a live jalebi station. This is not something you’ll find on most cruise ships—or even most Royal Caribbean ships. The fresh, hot jalebi being made onboard was a standout culinary experience and a must-see for food lovers. We also cover the FlowRider surf simulator, located on the top deck near the sports complex. While FlowRider is a Royal Caribbean signature, it’s still a unique cruise experience for many travelers and completely free to try. Other hidden and underrated features we highlight include: • The only ice cream station onboard, with limited hours • A glass-floor staircase where you can look straight down 10 decks • Design details and spaces that many passengers walk past without noticing If you’re planning a Quantum of the Seas Alaska cruise, sailing from Seattle, or just love discovering hidden cruise ship features, this video will help you get more out of your next Royal Caribbean vacation.
