Five cruise ships were in Southampton Docks on Thursday 21st December 2017 preparing to depart for their Christmas & New Year voyages. The first to depart was Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' "Black Watch" at 16:30 from 101E at the City Cruise Terminal heading off on a 15-night Christmas cruise to Norway. The second to depart was Saga Holidays' "Saga Sapphire" from the Queen Elizabeth II Cruise Terminal at around 17:30 heading off on a 17-night Christmas cruise to Scandinavia. The third to depart was Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' "Balmoral" just after 17:30 from 101W at the City Cruise Terminal on her post-refit 16-night Christmas cruise to the Canary Islands. Also in port were P&O Cruises' "Ventura" & "Oriana". Both had later departures so I wasn't able to see them. "Ventura" later left at 19:00 from the Ocean Cruise Terminal heading off on a 14-night cruise to Portugal and the Canary Islands whilst "Oriana" isn't due to depart until 06:15 on Friday 22nd.
