Welcome back to Day 10 of our 16‑day Panama Canal cruise aboard the Carnival Spirit! After an incredible morning of monkeys, macaws, crocodiles, and toucans, Part 2 of our Costa Rica adventure takes us through food, culture, butterflies, storms, and a lively night back onboard. We kick things off with a stop at a local restaurant and souvenir market, where we try Costa Rican empanadas (both chicken and beef — delicious!) and sample Costa Rican Coke. Inside the shop, we browse sloth‑themed souvenirs, handmade crafts, and traditional coffee brewers before heading to our next stop. The butterfly garden is a highlight of the afternoon, filled with cocoons, caterpillars, and vibrant blue morpho butterflies that keep landing on Adam’s shirt. We explore the garden’s feeding stations, chrysalis clusters, and several species fluttering around us. Back at the Puntarenas pier, we walk through light rain and board the ship — only to learn that the Carnival Spirit briefly lost power while we were ashore. In the cabin, we’re greeted by a new towel animal (frog? crab? the debate continues) before heading out for sailaway. Lightning flashes across the sky as we leave Costa Rica behind and head toward our next destination. The evening brings a high‑energy juggling and variety show, complete with comedy, audience participation, and knife juggling. Afterward, we enjoy a cozy dinner featuring arancini, wedding soup, and a single, very dramatic meatball. Exhausted from a long day, we wrap up the night with an elevator‑ride outro and the reminder that we’re losing an hour of sleep as the clocks move forward. Thanks for joining us for this full, fun, and unforgettable day in Costa Rica! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe so you don’t miss Day 11 and the rest of our Panama Canal journey. 🇨🇷🦋🌩️✨
