Day 9 of our 16‑day Panama Canal cruise turned into one of the busiest and most entertaining sea days we’ve had so far. From trivia and wildlife talks to pumpkin carving, sunset cocktails, a full production show, and a chaotic comedy set, this day had a little bit of everything. We start the morning with overcast skies and choppy seas, but that doesn’t stop us from jumping into trivia (even if the “grade school” category humbles us). After breakfast, we check in on the injured bird that’s been hanging around the ship before heading to a fascinating naturalist lecture about monkeys, apes, poison dart frogs, and Costa Rican wildlife. Back in the cabin, we’re greeted by a towel animal we absolutely cannot identify — cat? bear? seductive creature? You tell us. The sun finally breaks through, and we head to a pumpkin carving demonstration, where the carver creates an incredible design in just 30 minutes. The afternoon is all about relaxing on Lido, reading, and sneaking in a nap before getting ready for the evening. Sam catches a gorgeous sunset from the balcony, and we grab a Perfect Storm cocktail at Alchemy Bar while watching the waves roll by. Tonight’s entertainment lineup includes Color My World, a musical production with some of the strongest vocals we’ve heard this cruise. After dinner in the MDR, we head to Punchliner Comedy, where a rogue butterfly/moth steals the show for the first 10 minutes as the entire audience ducks and dodges. It was a full, fun, and unexpectedly eventful day at sea — the perfect mix of activities, relaxation, and entertainment. Thanks for joining us! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe so you don’t miss tomorrow’s port day and the rest of our Panama Canal adventure. 🚢✨
