Celebrity ‘X’ Cruises Silhouette ship is a solstice class ship built in Germany by the Meyer Werft shipbuilder, where when delivered in 2011, she became the 4th Solstice class ship to be operated by the Celebrity Cruises cruise line a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group. She was built to the same overall design as the 3 preceding ships in the class (the Celebrity Solstice, the Celebrity Equinox and the Celebrity Eclipse) but she would end up been the biggest ship in class at around 400 tonnes larger and 6 feet longer. The Celebrity Silhouette cruise ship weighs in at 122,210 GT is 319 metres 91,047ft) in length and has a capacity of around 2,885 passengers. The Celebrity Silhouette cruise ship took her maiden voyage on the 23rd July 2011, when she was based in the Mediterranean and sailed to Civitavecchia (Rome) in Italy. That winter she moved to Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, New Jersey to sail Caribbean itineraries. Currently she has a found a home sailing out of Port Lauderdale in the winter for cruises of the Caribbean and in summer she homeports out of Southampton on England’s south coast for cruises of Northern Europe, Western Europe and the Norwegian Fjords.
