Creator's Key Takeaways

By the end of this cruise, we would absolutely book the Sunset Sky Suite again, just not in this location.

The only quiet time was usually between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Our recommendation is simple. Let guests know that cabins beneath Oceanview Cafe may experience probably not may, but will experience daytime noise.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Avoid Sunset Sky Suite cabins located directly beneath the Oceanview Cafe to prevent daytime noise from chairs being moved.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

Thinking about booking a Sunset Sky Suite on Celebrity Solstice? Before you choose your cabin, there is one important location issue you need to know about. We spent seven nights in a Sunset Sky Suite during our Alaska cruise aboard the newly refurbished Celebrity Solstice. In this honest suite review, we take you inside the cabin on embarkation day and then share what it was actually like after living there for an entire week. The suite offered spectacular aft-facing Alaska views, a surprisingly spacious layout, excellent storage, a comfortable bed, useful USB-A and USB-C ports, and outstanding service from our Retreat butler, Clayton. We loved the balcony so much that we often stayed outside longer than planned just watching the scenery. However, shortly after boarding, we began hearing repeated chair-dragging noise from the deck above. The sound continued throughout most of the day and became significant enough that we asked Celebrity whether another suite was available. In this video, we explain: • What the Sunset Sky Suite was really like after seven days • Why the aft-facing balcony was the highlight of the cabin • The storage, bathroom, bed, outlets and suite amenities • Our experience with The Retreat and our butler • Where the unexpected noise was coming from • Why we decided not to move • How Celebrity handled the situation • Whether we would book a Sunset Sky Suite again Celebrity ultimately went above and beyond by checking on us, offering alternatives, personally apologizing and providing a future cruise credit. The suite itself was not the problem—the location was. Would we book another Sunset Sky Suite? Absolutely. We would simply choose a different location next time.
