We stop at the port of Nassau on day 3 of our Carnival Elation cruise. Our original plans to do our own walking tour didn't go as planned. The night before, Carnival informed us of a travel advisory for Nassau. It stated that it was unsafe to walk over the hill and south of Shirley Street. Well, that was exactly where we had planned to go. We decided to walk to Junkanoo Beach instead, and see how we felt about it. While the walk to Junkanoo was ok, we felt a little uneasy a few times and decided it was best that we didn't attempt to walk to the Queens Staircase alone....better safe than sorry. Next time, we'll definitely book an excursion like we did the last time we were here. After enjoying the afternoon back on the ship, we had dinner in the main dining room.
