🇮🇹 Day 5 – We Didn't Expect THIS in Civitavecchia! | Marella Discovery 2 | Highlights of the Mediterranean Welcome to Day 5 of our Highlights of the Mediterranean cruise aboard Marella Discovery 2! Today we arrive in Civitavecchia, the famous Italian cruise port known as the Gateway to Rome. Like many cruise passengers, we could have headed straight to Rome... but instead we decided to stay local and explore Civitavecchia itself. And what a surprise it turned out to be! Join us as we wander through this fascinating seaside town in search of the beach, stumble a little too close to a military establishment (oops!), and discover a fantastic local bar where our ice-cold lagers came with delicious complimentary homemade crisps! Back on board, we take you with us for: 🍳 Breakfast at Islands Buffet 🥗 Lunch at Islands Buffet 🍽️ Dinner in Piccadilly's Restaurant In the evening, we enjoy "Yellow Submarine", a brand-new theatre show for us celebrating the music of The Beatles. We also join in one of the funniest game shows we've seen so far... who knew bursting a balloon could be so difficult! Throughout the evening we catch fantastic live performances from Marus, Reece and Jackson around the ship before rounding off another wonderful day with our very first Mudslides of the cruise.
