Comparing Disney Cruise Ships: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream

Hi everyone and welcome to Cruiseful. For today's video we’ll be comparing the different cruise ships that are available on the Disney Cruise Line. Disney currently has 4 ships: Magic, Wonder, Fantasy and Dream. They also have a 5th ship coming out in Summer 2022 called the Wish but we’ll be discussing that in a separate video. Disney Cruise Lines have many available ports to depart from including multiple home ports in the US and England. They have some home ports in Canada, Spain, Italy and Denmark. Although not as many as the previous 2 countries, there are still a lot of options for where to start your cruise at. Besides the destination of your cruise you’ll also be wondering what type of ships Disney Cruise offers. Unfortunately not all the ships dock at every port so based on where you’re departing from will also determine what ship you’ll be on. So we’ll compare the 4 ships. The 4 ships can be split into 2 categories: the Magic class which has the Magic and Wonder ship and then the Dream class which has the Dream and Fantasy ships. The magic class ships are the original ships so are a bit smaller. They both have 875 cabins and can both carry up to 2700 passengers as well as 945 crew members. The Dream class ships are 55% larger than the Magic class with 1250 cabins while carrying 4000 passengers and over 1450 crew members. Let's first talk about what these cruise ships have in common. First off they all offer 4 level types of staterooms: inside, ocean, verandah and concierge. The inside and ocean staterooms are equivalent in size with the main difference is the ocean rooms have a porthole with a view outside. The verandah staterooms are slightly bigger and include your own personal balcony. The largest rooms are at the concierge level which include 1-2 bedroom suites as well as the special Royal Suites named after Walter and Roy Disney. Other amenities that are offered on all the ships include two theaters. The musical shows do vary based on the ship such as The Magic is showing Tangled, the Dream is playing Beauty and The Beast while both the Wonder and Fantasy offer Frozen the Musical. Each ship also offers The Oceaneers Club and Lab to entertain your 3-12 year old while the It's A Small World Nursery is available for children under 3. Adults can relax at the Senses Spa or eat at the adults only upscale restaurant Palo that serves italian fare. For recreational activities, all the ships include a variety of pools for all ages as well as waterslides. So what makes each ship different and unique. SImilar to the different Disneyland Parks and lands, each ship has different themes for their dining, lounges, and entertainment. All the ships offer Cabanas which is a buffet style restaurant that offers the standard traditional buffet style food and drinks as well as Animators Palette which is one of the sit down restaurants that are part of the ships dinner rotation. For the Dream Class ships, their other restaurants include the Enchanted Garden, the Royal Court or Palace as well as an additional adult only upscale restaurant Remy’s. For the Magic ship, it has Rapunzels Royal Table and Lumiere’s while the Wonder instead has Tritons and Tiana’s Place. The lounges and pubs also have very distinct themes on each ship ranging from a Cadillac themed lounge, French Quarter themed, English or Irish themed pubs as well as a sky bar type lounge. Whether you’re on a cruise to rest and relax or looking for fun for the whole family, Disney Cruise Lines offers services and amenities for everyone and there’s a ship for you that will fit your needs.
